New Audi A3 Saloon

The new Audi A3 was due to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic and Switzerland's self-imposed limit on gatherings of over 1,000 people, the event was cancelled. Instead, it was presented online, and also in Ingolstadt to be watched live.

It was presented on the Sportback version. It presented an all new styling, said by Audi to be inspired by Lamborghini, LED headlights and taillights, with the option of Matrix LED headlights. It shares the MQB platform with some other Audi models, and with the Volkswagen Golf Mk8, SEAT Leon Mk4, and Skoda Octavia Mk4.

Audi has raided the powertrain technology cupboard of the v8.0 VW Golf, so there’s a three-cylinder petrol with 109bhp available and a 148bhp 2.0-litre diesel. The most technologically advanced, however, is a new 148bhp 1.5-litre petrol with both mild hybrid assistance and cylinder deactivation technologies.
